Athens, Jerome, Jonah -- Three Images from the Vatican

I spent a mere three hours at the Vatican Museums yesterday.  Of the thousands of masterpieces, these are the images that stood out.  More later on why these three, of all that I saw, struck me so powerfully.

Leonardo's St. Jerome (1488-90).

Jonah, above the Last Judgement (1508-1512) in the Sistine Chapel.

School of Athens, by Raphael (1509-10).
