Orvieto the Beautiful
I just returned from a perfect afternoon in Orvieto with Tom Leslie, architectural historian and Pier Luigi Nervi expert. Beautiful weather, a hilltop town, a world-renowned duomo (with Luca Signorelli frescoes that inspired and perhaps even exceeded Michelangelo's Day of Judgment in the Sistine Chapel), fantastic food, and, last but not least, a funiculare to take us from the train station to the top.
Here are a few images.
